Features of the Baby Lobster RC boat
The JJRC S6 RC boat belongs to the “Baby” series of the brand, so it is a rather small boat. We already tested the predecessor JJRC S5, but the design has changed a lot since then. So instead of a boring blue boat, you now get a quite respectable model. The equipment, however, has changed only slightly, so you can drive with a maximum of 10 km/h and the battery with 650 mAh capacity is identical.
In short: you get virtually the same features from the JJRC S5 in a new look. The technical data, the motor and the operation are completely identical, the weight has been reduced by another 10 grams to almost 400 grams. Because of this and the sleek design, the boat can theoretically go a bit faster than its predecessor, but in practice you will probably not notice any difference. The range is still a maximum of 50 meters.
The battery should be charged in just under two hours and the matching cable for charging is included. After that the remote controlled boat can be used for up to 20 minutes, which is quite a decent amount of time. You should be aware that with a maximum speed of 10 km / h children will have more fun than adults. This is not really fast, as you can see in our last test. With the right cuts and the one or other time lapse it looks better:
Scope of delivery
Nothing unusual awaits you in the scope of delivery. You will receive the JJRC S6 Baby Lobster RC-Boat with the matching remote control – but unfortunately without the matching AA batteries. Also included is the battery with a suitable charging cable and a user manual in English and Chinese.
Assessment & alternatives
With the JJRC S6 you get a new edition of the JJRC S5, which has only been changed in small details. But since the workmanship and operation of the predecessor convinced us, you can’t do much wrong here either. But in the long run the low speed is probably fun for children.
If you like a little more speed, you can find a boat with the JJRC S1 Pentium model, which can go up to 25 km/h. The JJRC S4 is also available with an integrated camera – you have to find out for yourself if this is worth the extra charge.
